soooooo... long time no see y'all. anyone who's been following my status updates, sparse as they've been, knows i was doing really rough for a while there... things started to improve, and in general they're still better than they were, but after finally getting on a regular anti-anxiety med and starting to feel normal again, i then had a bout with gallstones and had to get my gallbladder removed. of course, i had to take some time off work to recover, i told my company that i'd be unavailable for two weeks after the surgery, went to visit my partner out of state, it was fantastic... then i came home and discovered the company had terminated my contract while i was gone.

so uh. i'm not mentally in a good enough place to open full commissions rn, but i can do some customs i think. because... i need something while i'm trying to find another remote job that'll be able to travel with me when i move, hopefully this spring. anything is helpful, even just sharing this journal or something. any followers still watching, i know it's been a while but... i appreciate you guys, those of you who've stuck around. <3

To followers of Hambleton's: after much thought and deliberation, I've decided not to post an August chapter. Between it feeling ridiculously dissonant to write about "everyday problems" while the world is falling apart, and the fact that July is the anniversary of my dad's passing, I just had zero motivation to write anything. I know that forcing myself to do it anyway would just result in sub-par content, so I didn't want to do that.

2020's been a bizarre year thus far. I'll aim to have September's chapter ready come the beginning of next month, but... given the global landscape, I won't say anything is certain. I'll hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. The worst just being that chapters might be a bit scarce or off-schedule for a bit.

In other news, thanks to a large amount of family drama this spring, my siblings and I are putting every effort we can into moving out as soon as we possibly can. Yeah, I know, during a pandemic is the Worst Time to do this, but let's just say our mother hasn't given us much of a choice. We love her, but it's just getting to this point that staying here and dealing with her complexes and strongarming is no longer worth sharing the cost of living in this house. So... yeah, that's a thing.

We're shooting for Wausau, WI. We wanted something near the Great Lakes area, since we like the topography, but we also needed something within a day's drive so we didn't have to cart our poor kitties too far (we have two) in a moving vehicle. I'm really hoping that the second stimulus check will go through, because that would be hUGE and go a long way toward bolstering our savings for this trip. I'm the only one of us siblings that has a job, since where we live, they're extremely scarce and they've been having trouble finding online work, soooo... prayers, good vibes... donations?? are incredibly appreciated.

This spring, I had thought to myself "okay, i'm going to binge-finish these pieces! i can do it!" and thennnnn the family drama happened and i've been having panic attacks for the first time in my life and...... 2020's just the worst.
